Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor organizes, manages, and leads a production team of employees to manufacture store fixtures with high quality, within budget, efficiently, and on time to meet the customer’s requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of all the employees in the assigned area of production
  • Plan and organize the workflow of the assigned area to gain optimum productivity
  • Ensure all employees follow safety guidelines
  • Ensure that workers are provided with appropriate tools to effectively, efficiently and safely perform their assigned task and control the issuance of such tools
  • Regularly inspect the work performed by the employees for quality, correctness, and accuracy. Perform final sign off inspection to make sure that all products are properly tagged by both the day shift and the afternoon shift before the products are moved to the next operation
  • Coordinate with other supervisors to effect a smooth and efficient flow of materials in and out of the assigned area
  • Maintain an organized file of current travelers
  • Communicate and enforce company policies, rules and procedures
  • Maintain all attendance guidelines and ensure corrective action is done as needed
  • Monitor the performance of all assigned employees and take appropriate action regarding promotion, demotion, transfers, vacations, leaves and disciplinary action
  • Maintain a neat, orderly and safe assembly area
  • Recommend methods that will improve the productivity, efficiency, and/or safety of the assembly area

 

  • Schedule afternoon shift activities and assess the productivity of the afternoon shift
  • Plan and organize the production activities of the plant to ensure that the required products are manufactured in time to meet the customer demands
  • Maintain high quality standards in all phases of production activity – raw materials, work in process, and finished goods
  • Maintain high morale among all employees by promoting and enforcing effective human relations practices
  • Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Promote cross training across all areas of production to enhance efficiency and flexibility
  • Enforce the continuous flow of production from start to completion, consistent to “Lean Manufacturing” methodology with a focus on Cost Savings
  • Provide leadership in the assigned area to ensure that all employees follow the correct procedures in reporting material and labor transactions in Vantage
  • Recommend training programs to upgrade the skills of employees under direct supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in the store fixture industry or related industry that involves custom metal and wood operations
  • Highly organized with the tenacity to succeed in a constant high-pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead, motivate and influence people at all levels internally and externally
